‘Children Learning Through Play’
I cannot believe that it is a year since I started writing Pippin’s articles for the Stotfold News. I enjoy it, but it does come round rather quickly each month!
Last month the children came back to Pippin all ready to paint and play after enjoying the Christmas holidays! The snow was a pleasant surprise for the children to enjoy before starting back at school and gave them tales to tell of building snowmen and snowball fights.
The children are enjoying our Chinese New Year celebrations. This year is the Year of the Ox. The children will be celebrating by making lanterns, bookmarks and masks while learning about the Chinese festivities. Kung hei fat choy!
February sees the children making their Valentine’s Day cards. Who doesn’t like receiving a beautiful card made by their child’s hands, unless, of course, they decide to give it to one of their many ‘girlfriends/boyfriends’! The concentration on a child’s face when he or she is making something is wonderful to see. There will be some fantastic and, no doubt, abstract, Valentine designs coming out of Pippin this month when the children’s imaginations are at work!
We are looking forward, once again, to having our popular annual Pyjama Day. The staff and children will be wearing their nightwear for the morning and enjoying their ‘bedtime’ stories and comparing slippers and their favourite bedtime toy.
If you would like to know more about our pre-school please have a look at our website, give us a call or write us an email or better still come and meet us. We have open mornings every Monday, so please feel free to come along, meet Rose and her staff, and see the children enjoying themselves. No need to book, just come along we would love to hear from you and tell you more about our little Pippin family.
Thank you for your interest in our pre-school and we look forward to sharing more of our news with you again next month.
