‘Children Learning through Play’
Sitting here in the sun, putting on the lotion prompts me to remind you to slop on your children’s sun lotion before you get them dressed so that they are protected when they play outside during pre-school or school. There are some long lasting lotions that, although expensive, are worth the money so that your child does not burn from the lunchtime sun!
And so to the latest news from Pippin Pre-School:-
The children have planted their allotment with vegetable seeds and flowers and are having great fun watering and watching them grow. We feel that it is important that children are aware of where the food they eat comes from, rather than thinking it is just bought at the supermarket!
At the end of April some of the Committee members and parents (thank you Mark & Jane) have brightened up the playground by sweeping and painting the roadway, hop scotch, etc. The children and staff are really pleased with their bright new playground. Thank you to everyone you contributed their time.
Our annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is being held on Tuesday 17th June, everyone is welcome. We will be requesting a £1 entrance donation at the door; however, this will provide you with a chance to win the door prize. There will also be a raffle drawn on the day, any prize donations gratefully received.
We are taking part in The Barnado’s Big Toddle 2008 on June 24th. This is our annual event when Pippin children collect as many sponsors as they can to raise money for Barnado’s. Should anyone like to contribute to this worthy cause please forward your donations c/o Mrs. R. Sharp at our address below. Thank you.
We are planning on holding a Prize Bingo evening. The date and venue are still to be confirmed so please watch this space, or check our website, for further announcements. If you have a prize, or service, that you would like to offer as a prize we would welcome you with open arms.
We hold regular open mornings every Monday for parents and toddlers to call in and spend the morning with us, no appointment necessary. Please come along and see what is on offer for your child from Pippin Pre-School.
